Jordan wins presidency of APPC's E-Commerce Team

Amman, June 4 (Petra) – Jordan won presidency of E-Commerce and Financial Inclusion Working Group of the Arab Permanent Postal Committee (APPC) during its 49th meeting, held at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.

According to a statement issued by Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) on Thursday, the Kingdom's official delegation comprised representatives from the commission and the Jordan Post Company, headed by TRC's Secretary-General , Dr. Nael Adwan.

The Kingdom's achievement affirms confidence in Jordan's expertise in regulatory and postal fields, as well as the Kingdom's active role in supporting efforts to develop the Arab postal sector and enhance its integration with the requirements of the digital economy and e-commerce.

Adwan noted this milestone reflects the Kingdom's "advanced" position in the areas of postal regulation and digital transformation.

On its significance, he noted the recognition will provide an "important" opportunity to contribute to forging Arab initiatives and policies that support e-commerce growth and enhance financial inclusion, in line with global trends and the economic development goals in the region.

Jordan, he stated, will continue to work in coordination with its Arab countries and relevant bodies to strengthen cooperation, exchange expertise, and support development of postal and logistics services to keep pace with the rapid changes in the global digital economy.

The Kingdom’s participation comes within the framework of its continued keenness to enhance its presence in expert Arab and international forums, and contribute effectively to shaping policies and initiatives, aimed to develop postal sector and achieve Arab integration in postal services and e-commerce areas.
